Italian artist Maurizio Savini creates amazingly detailed and slightly disturbing sculptures out of pink chewing gum. And has exhibited throughout Europe. He sold each one of them for at least 40.000€.

	I guess, as far as mediums go, chewing gum isn't that different from clay. Stickier, sure. And you gotta admire an artist who's willing to work with a sticky medium. I like his creativity, besides the fact that he's obviously quite a talented artist. Artists these days try so hard to be provocative, original, and edgy, and I think in some ways their work suffers for this (it becomes pretentious, willfully obtuse, and self indulgent). This guy, on the other hand, did something interesting and unique in what seems to be a spirit of play and whimsy, and that makes all the difference. I like art that's smart and interesting without trying too hard. Kudos to this guy!
